Madi

Madi Baird has been part of the New Tampa Karate team since 2021 and currently serves as the Assistant Program Manager. In this role, she supports daily operations, assists with classes, and helps coordinate events. She enjoys working with students of all ages and is especially passionate about mentoring younger students in both karate and dance.

Madi is a senior at the University of South Florida, where she is majoring in Biological Health Sciences. She plans to apply to nursing school for the 2026 school year and takes every opportunity to shadow hospital staff to gain experience in the medical field, as she has earned both her Phlebotomy and Basic Life Support Certificates.

In addition to her academic and professional goals, Madi has a long-standing connection to the arts. She has trained at New Tampa Dance Theatre since the age of three in classical ballet and other dance styles. She was a company member with the Dance Theatre of Tampa for over six years and continues to stay involved with the studio when she can.

Madi also takes part in student leadership and campus involvement at USF. She currently serves as the Sisterhood Director of her sorority, Chi Omega, and is a member of the Global Citizens Project. She has previously been active in the Student Government Association, Cambridge Council, and the National Honor Society throughout high school.

In her free time, she enjoys taking sparring classes at the dojo and values the strong relationships she’s built with her coworkers and students.
