Sensei Jack

1st Degree Black Belt

As a Shodan Black Belt, Jack holds his responsibility of mentoring young students as a top priority. Since he has been training at NTK for nearly 10 years, Jack understands the struggles and the joys that students may face, and he is eager to build students up, as he was by his Senseis. Karate has assisted Jack in many endeavors, such as keeping a healthy, strong physique, as well as preparing him if he ever needed to defend against danger in the real world. However, more importantly, Karate has helped Jack to develop strong morals, and to live with confidence, and always stand up for what is right and true.

In addition to Karate, Jack values family and friends over everything. A chief principle that he picked up from his Senseis is the importance of teamwork and supporting each other, whether at home or in the world. Jack has put these skills to use at Patel High School, where he is in 11th grade; participating in a rigorous college program, called the AICE program, Jack is faced with many challenges, but is lucky to have friends to help each other along the way. Additionally, Jack employs these skills at home, where he spends time with his two brothers and two sisters, and his parents, whether it be by helping with daily tasks or by having a casual conversation.

Some of Jack’s hobbies include music playing and writing, woodworking, cross country, working out at the gym, religious study, and exploring new topics and subjects. He plays cello in Patel High School’s chamber orchestra, an elective orchestra that plays music from many eras. He is currently working on writing and recording his own music, for which he built an at-home studio. Unsure of where college and beyond will take him, Jack is excited to discover many subjects that will help find him a suitable career, one in public service that brings good to society.
